Comment: Built in 1931. Bought in 1938 by the Turkish government for the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. In 1951 the ship was converted to training duties, and renamed Günes Dil. In October 1979 the ship was badly damaged in a fire at the Turkish Naval Academy. In 1989 she was chartered by a businessman and was completely rebuilt.
