Comment: Ex - USS Capps ( DD 550 ). Commissioned for the US Navy on 23 June 1943. Reaconditioned at San Francisco, California, and transferred to the Spanish Navy on 15 May 1957, and sailing to Spain on 1 July 1957. Purchased by the spanish government on 1 October 1972. Lepanto was damaged on grounding 16 April 1977..
