Comment: Former Mar Rojo (A-102), Former Amapola. Launched in July 1974 ( exact date unknown ). This ship was built originally as an oil rig support ship. It was acquired by the Spanish Navy in 1989. At present has been converted to diving support and submarine salvage duties. Among its equipment are two hiperbaric chambers, a diving chamber ( that allows divers to descend up to 200m ), and a Scorpion remote controlled vehicle with an articulated arm, that is able to operate until depths of 600m ( among the crew is known as "Curro" ). The Neptuno took the place and duties of decomissioned A12 Poseidón.
