Comment: Ex - U-573. Commissioned for the German Navy in June 5th 1942. On May 1st 1942, while on itīs 4th patrol became damaged by a british Hudson aircraft using depth charges while it was patrolling near Algiers. The commander sailed to Cartagena (Spain) for repairs and the submarine then became interned. It was finally acquired by the spanish government and was renamed G-7. After a long period being repaired it entered active service November 5th 1947. Renamed S-01 June 15th 1961.
